Caspian Development Advisory Panel Seeks Input on
BP's Activities in Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey

BP has established an independent external advisory panel to study the impact of the Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline project in the Caspian region. This panel, the Caspian Development Advisory Panel (CDAP), has a broad mandate. It will focus on the social, environmental and economic impact of the BTC pipeline project. While the primary focus will be on the BTC pipeline, the Panel will have an opportunity to look at other related BP activities in the region. CDAP will provide objective advice to BP and will recommend actions BP can take to help ensure that the BTC project progresses in a responsible manner.

In an effort to consider the viewpoints of all those affected by the BTC pipeline project and BP's related activities in the region, CDAP is distributing this open invitation for input and comments. The Panel seeks input from a broad and inclusive range of stakeholders, including, but not limited to, academic institutions, business enterprises, community leaders, community-based organizations, government representatives, industry associations, multilateral institutions and non-governmental organizations.

More information on CDAP, including the Terms of Reference, can be found at: www.caspsea.com. The Panel is comprised of four members: Jan Leschly (CDAP Chair), Stuart Eizenstat, Jim MacNeill and Mohamed Sahnoun.

CDAP will issue a formal written report to the BP Group Chief Executive by the end of this year. This report will be made available to the public, after it has been presented to the BP Group Chief Executive and BP has prepared its response.

All submissions should be sent to CDAP via e-mail at CDAP@caspsea.com or addressed to: Caspian Development Advisory Panel Secretariat, c/o Covington & Burling, Attention: Mr. Peter Flanagan, 1201 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20009 USA. CDAP thanks you for your time and consideration of this important matter and looks forward to receiving your input.
